The Christian faithful who come together as one in expectation of the Lord’s coming are instructed by the Apostle Paul to sing together Psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles. (Col. 3:16). Singing is the sign of the heart’s joy - thus St. Augustine says rightly, “Singing is for one who Loves”. There is also an ancient proverb that says “Whoever sings prays twice over.”
Our adult parish Choirs sing every Sunday at the 8:30 a.m.and 10:30 a.m. Masses and at special liturgies during the year. Normally we rehearse on Thursday evenings in the loft at 6:00 p.m. and 45 minutes before Mass in the Parish Hall. Winter visitors are welcome to participate during their time with us as well! A teen choir is forming for the Sunday night 5:30pm Mass!
Saturday night vigil Mass at 5:00pm feature a Cantor (solo singer). The Cantor needs to be blessed with a pleasant voice, and be willing to prepare the music in advance and rehearse.
Instrumentalist, woodwinds, strong, brass are also welcome at all Masses!
